Catalina makes a great day trip, I would suggest if you are coming from out of town for a short trip don’t go out of your way to go, but if you are a local, visit the Los Angeles area often or plan a longer visit, it’s definitely worth doing once. We took the Catalina Express over, it was a delightfully smooth ride. When we arrived at the island the only plan we had was to see the Catalina Hoedown, a fundraising endeavor they throw annually. With some time to kill before the howdown started we headed over to the tourism bureau and were weighing out our tour and transportation options. I can’t even start to tell you how much awesome stuff there is to do and see (a lot of it free) in Chicago. Even in winter, there’s so much to do that you’ll have to make some tough choices.

LEGOLAND during Halloween

I don’t have to tell you how much we love LEGO, but these are pictures from LEGOLand. Specifically from around Halloween time. One of the cooler things they do there is decorate Miniland for the holidays, and other special events. Here’s a sneak peak at some of the stuff you’ll see when you go to the park in October. (Keep you eyes peeled for great miniland costumes, kids teepeeing a tree, pumpkin patches, aliens attacking and more!)
